Harold Dow died abruptly Saturday morning, Aug. 21, reports CBS News. Thus far, the cause of death has not been announced. During his time as a CBS reporter, Harold Dow managed to win 5 Emmys covering everything from the kidnapping of Patty Hearst to American involvement in Bosnia. The reporter also was a correspondent for the show 48 hours since it began.
He later covered the Lockerbie bombing, the Sept. 11 terror attacks, and the O.J. Simpson case. Harold Dow is survived by his wife, Kathy and their three children, Danica, Joelle and David.
Funeral arrangements are still being made.“The CBS News family has lost one of its oldest and most talented members,” said Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports. “His absence will be felt by many and his on-air presence and reporting skills touched nearly all of our broadcasts.”
