Referee Jorge Larrionda was shot dead right in his head by an unknown shooter believed to be a sniper. A few witnesses commented that it happened so fast. 2 shots were fired which was believe to have come from a hotel nearby not far from Mangaung/Bloemfontein – Free State Stadium where the match was held between Germany and England.

Sen. Robert Byrd, 92, died last night.
